If you are wondering about why the merchant has raised their prices, then you are thinking like your government wants you to think. You are not asking why is the value of the money I'm using decreasing?

The answer is quite simple and you should already know it. Your government is provably stealing from you. Since your government educated you with mandatory public schooling, do you think it would educate you about how it steals from you?

At one time in my youth I was able to purchase 100 individually wrapped bubble gum pieces for one "dollar". So for illustration I'll set the value of a one unit Federal Reserve Note as equal to the value of 100 individually wrapped bubble gum pieces. A one unit Federal Reserve Note is now equal to the value of 5 individually wrapped bubble gum pieces.

Where did the value of 95 individually wrapped bubble gum pieces go?

If 19 Federal Reserve Notes are counterfeited, then 20 Federal Reserve Notes will have the value of 100 individually wrapped bubble gum pieces, or 5 individually wrapped bubble gum pieces each.

Keep in mind, whatever the number of 100% Federal Reserve Notes, that number will need 19 counterfeit notes for every 100% Federal Reserve Note in existence when the counterfeiting fraud and theft started in 1913. Take another look at the chart image above.
